Rebel Art Summer Camps are full of exploration, creative excitement, and and just plain fun! Each week we offer a variety of different media projects (acrylic painting, watercolor, plaster sculpture, mixed media, collage, printmaking, and more!), which change each week making it easy for campers to attend multiple weeks of camp without repeating projects. We ensure a good balance between 2D and 3D projects, so whether your young artists prefers to build things and be hands on, or paint, draw, or print things they'll be more than pleased! The schedule for a half-day goes as follows:
9-10:00am - art making
10-11:00am - snack break, games/crafting
11-12:00pm - art making
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays we will host camp at the studio, while Tuesdays and Thursdays will be out in the parks. Tuesday we will meet at Civic Park in downtown Walnut Creek, and each Thursday we will meet at Heather Farms for plein air art making in which campers meet at a specified spot at the parks and are able to create artwork outside. We keep a close eye on the weather and air quality and will relocate to the studio if the weather or air is unsuitable to be outside.
We supply aprons and all art materials for our students and campers, however we do not provide food due to allergy concerns. Please send your camper with snack for the day. Rebel is a nut free area, so please no PBJ's, nuts, etc for snack or lunch. We also suggest wearing 'art clothes' as accidents do happen, and not all material washes out of clothing.
